The universe is a continuous web. Touch it at any point and the whole web quivers.
~Stanley Kunitz

In our daily life, we breathe, but we forget that we’re breathing.

We bring our attention to our in-breath and our out-breath.

Suddenly, we bring our body and our mind fully present in the here and now, and we smile.

~Thich Nhat Hanh

"Your invitation to follow the breath immediately set the tone for quiet and reflection. I particularly enjoyed listening to the many natural sounds that surround Spirit Mountain and, by stopping and listening, I was able to feel myself a part of it all."
~Paul Zak

"Many thanks dear friends for another wonderful weekend! My deepest gratitude and heartfelt love to you for the beautiful space you have created. Truly a treasure!"

"If you would have balance and order within, do one small thing at the same time each day with gratitude in your heart…"
~Renée Miller

"Courage and contentment are simply manifestations of the divine perfection that already exists with us all."
~Gurumayi Chidvilasananda

"Try not to change the world.
You will fail.
Try to love the world.
Lo, the world is changed.
Changed forever."

~Sri Chinmoy

Spirit Mountain Retreat Annual Fundraiser

This is going to be *really good*:

Sam Kesler on the uke, Ed Hansen on piano and the up and coming classical quartet, The Elementals are going to entertain and inspire everyone within earshot of Spirit Mountain Retreat on Sunday, May 19th at our Annual Fundraiser.

We'll have music, refreshments, prize drawings, and a silent auction.

If you've been fortunate enough to enjoy the beautiful contemplative garden, attend an art class by Gary Parton, or participate in one of Katya Williamson's writing workshops, you already know of the wonderful and transformational energy of self-discovery and growth you can find here at Spirit Mountain Retreat.

Our mission is to help people discover, heal, and connect with themselves.

Women Veterans who attend our PTSD Resiliency Retreats have begun to heal and rediscover what it feels like to begin returning to themselves with the healing experiences and skills they learn in our 4-day retreats. They feel healing begin, they feel like they can function again, and they begin to remember what it was like to feel safe.

Sister Angela, an 85 year-old nun who spent 23 years as a missionary in Kenya came to Spirit Mountain after returning home to Ireland to discover what her next path might be. During her month-long retreat during the summer of 2018, she rested, meditated, and reconnected to herself. Sr. Angela referred to her stay as, "transformational, delightful, and I felt loved and cared for by the staff."

Chris, a 35 year old software designer came to Spirit Mountain for a two-week long silent retreat to get centered and de-stress in 2018 and left feeling rested and refreshed, ready to return to a high-stress job in LA.

Throughout the week, Spirit Mountain offers our local community where they can find comfort, community and solace through our support groups that include 12-step groups, and women's support groups including:

  • -Grief Support Group
  • -Overeaters Anonymous
  • -Tai Chi in the Garden
  • -Loving Kindness Meditation
  • -Self-Realization Fellowship Meditation
  • -Day of Mindfulness
  • -Death Café
  • -Women's Trauma Support Group
  • -Al-Anon
  • -Net of Light Meetings
  • -Friday Women’s Writing Group

And these are just the beginning. We also offer several workshops that directly benefit our local mountain community including: writing workshops, art classes, men's retreats, travel retreats, business retreats, and many more.

As a nonprofit organization, the majority of our revenue is invested right back into our programs and workshops and into our community. With your generous support, we can continue our current programs and expand our offering.

Or, if you can't attend, please consider making a donation.
